Right... Got this just after christmas and just found out the exhaust is a bit of a bodge job,

Although it's got a Irmscher backbox the guy who had it before has done some dodgy welding including a piece of scaffolding or something instead of a middle silencer. The cat is also on it's way out and there's some flexy piping around the frontpipe which is blowing

in a word...it's fcuked

It does purr quite nicely atm and give a bit of growl when you put your foot down (which I'd be happy with if it wasn't buggered) , although I would like it to be a bit louder if I was going to spend quite a bit on it.

So i'm undecided wether to either

1) Go for a full stainless system from somewhere like Powerflow ( quoted £350 including a new cat, but keeping irmscher backbox)

2) Trying to buy separate parts and getting garage to fit them (cat, remus centre section for example)

3) Get everything standard and hope the backbox on it's own will still make it purr (quoted £200 ish)

Bearing in mind i'm a student living at Uni with not much income, although i don't mind spending a bit if I will be happy with the result and it's worth it

Discuss....

personnaly i wud just go for a powerflow system. if your planning on keeping the car anyway. and buying the bits sperately wont save you much money and the powerflow should last longer and sound really nice.
this is just my opinion as i saw nobody else was giving theres.

nice car btw.

Right will have a look tomorrow

And why do you want a mid silencer? is this setup too loud for your liking?

its not just that, i'd like a different tailpipe design also

its not actually too loud, but it was for when my parents drove the car during my ban

Full stainless system mate, if you go somewhere like powerflow, or long life you can chose how much you want it to burble, and how quiet/loud you want it... much better selection

well tell them they are a bunch of twats and they should know....

if you like the tail pipe design keep with that, just make it a twin box system with fiberglass wodding.... or something like that. nice and loud.

what engine is in it BTW?
