Im not planning on opening a can of worms here btw
This isnt a 'what would win' thread but which is more cost effective and better for the long run.
Buying a c20xe engine for my 1.4 sport replace what needs replacing, uprate the suspension and brakes etc then pay for conversion to be done.
Or
P/X my car for a 1.6 sport do a few mild performance mods so its reasonabily quick
P.S No Worms plz

If I were going for an engine conversion, it would be a LET.
but my 1.6 sport is fairly nippy with custom exhaust/decat and Pipercross Ind. kit.
I personally would buy a 1.6 sport or if you don't want to sell yours. LET

depend's what type of mild mod's etc
c20xe will probably still be quicker, but you always have a few teething problems with converted car's nothing that's not hard to fix though..
also, if you buy a new car it could be a dog, and you also dont know this history of it, if your convert your current car, you've had it a while and know about it etc, so wont ave any un-expected problems to fix

Only reason im swaying towards a new car is mine is annoying me as front end is messy because bonnet and bumper wont sit right and will cost a bit to fix because slam pannel needs correcting.

I'd stick with yours unless you can get a 1.6 from someone you know/someone respectable from here

Nah im no where near bored of my car i love it appart from the few bodywork problems
Quick question -
Say the xe conversion in total cost me £1300
Minus 200 - 300 for p/x for 1.6 sport, what could you do to a 1.6 for £1000 anything juicy

well you could get similar power, but torque will be an issue, plus with those sorts of mods you will be paying as much insurance than as you would with an xe

Full Exhaust System, Mantzel/Dblias Inlet, 4-2-1 Manifold. And with a bit more money a re-map.
Ild go LET personally but thats out of the question! it will cost a fair bit to get a 1.6 on par with an XE.
