you have to pay the extra road tax cause it will be in a different band

its that easy chris, sometimes they ar inspected like a mot to make sure there safe comply with law etc but thats it

even if you dont have the engine number you can just write not known in the space provided

just send a letter to the DVLA listing the new engine number.... job done

Write the new engine number in the correct box on the V5
Write the new cubic capacity in the correct box on the V5
Send the V5 to the address on the V5
Get V5 back and pay correct tax for the new engine size.

Simple.
