"It has been identified that due to a manufacturing deviation, the base material for the telescopic tube of the intermediate steering shaft may lack the required rigidity. This may lead to breakage of the shaft, which in the worst case would lead to loss of steering control"
Girlfriends is away in to be looked over soon, this will be the 4th recall on the D, hers has had to go in and be checked for (not even 12 month old yet)
Good old Vauxhall

Good old Vauxhall
Would you rather they left it years to identify (potentially serious) issues to recall

Obviously not but 4 recalls in less than a year, wouldn't have this with German build quality

Yes you would. You have this with any new car. There will be bugs and issues that will get sorted over time. Happens with every model of car, theres always a defect somewhere.

Brand new cars have problems like this all the time, it's fairly normal.

Those cars will have had some kind of recall im sure. Maybe your old mans been lucky, but I know for a fact the E36 had loads of little issues.

Well when the E60 M5 came it, it had loads of problems, mainly to do with the SMG box. A bloke in london (on the M5board) had is off the road so many times they had to buy it back, and let him jump the waiting list for a new one!

Thats cobblers about the BMW not needing a recall. The E90 has been subject to four recalls already, with another one due. Ours has been in for four of them, but is waiting on parts for the latest one.

I was surprised when I worked for Vauxhall how many cars were recalled for warranty work. Suppose its for the best really, just a hassle for the owners. Atleast some (good) garages will wash the cars for the owners, better than nothing.
