Puma 1.7 are a bit pony as they are only 125 bhp and even puma converted fezzys run high 15's-16's

i think you are incorrect there,
1.7 vvti engine in puma's 160bhp uprated inlet manifold and exhaust manifold and cam

No, the normal 1.7vvti, designed by yamaha, had 125bhp and was crap.
The RACING Puma 1.7vvti with the different plenum and map had 150bhp, but was still crap.
Even Scholar built racing ones struggle to break 200bhp.
The 2.0 Duratec is lighter and much much better, it's the best engine Ford have had for absolutely years, it's better than the Cosworth 4 banger.
