new to the forum, was a learner driver until a small mishap last year, have 3 driving convictions consisting of driving drunk, no insurance or licence so as you can guess im having a nightmare getting insured.

i have a 1.0 litre 12 Valve v reg (2000) corsa B with no mods as of yet but am being quoted as cheapest i have found £2553 a year 3rd party fire and theft.

anyone else in the same situation with insurance who can help or has any hints to try bring my premium down

probley not as no one would be as stupid to do all that. thats a good quote tbf just bite the bullet and take it.

wouldnt call it a slight mishap either, rather major "mishap" imo

There are specialists that can help with your situation, quite a list of convictions you have there. Try buying an auto trader and looking in there at the insurers. Good luck mate

Insurance is about risk & you'd be considered as a risk for obvious reasons. Don't think it's going to dip much below that price to be honest

btw my advice is walk. you quite clearly arent responsible enough for a car yet

agree mate.i had a mate loose his licence for drink driving riding a mini moto in his own pub car park.so he's got a drink driving offense but as you can probly think how can you do someone for drink driving in there own private car park.

nah lesson well learnt, bein that lucky not to die will do that as the end result was a crash. but ban is up 2moro so will see how things go, have done the drink drive awareness course etc so have good references for bringing premiums down, have just been contacted and got it down to £2100 now, best to stick to that

tbh 1.0 corsas altho they are group 1 they are expensive to insure for some reason! for same price as mine i can insure a saxo vtr!

when i first passed my test cheapest quote i could find on mine was 1900 now its down to 1100after a year and half!

well for the level of alcohol i had i am not classed as a high risk offender, ave payed ma fine and ma bans been spent but its still on my record for another ten years, till am 25 tho insurance will be fun to compete with, but looks like for now i am sorted

we all make mistakes


aslong as you've learned your lesson and drive safely your insurance will drop pretty quickly
