Why? Because it's art?

No because i could do the same if i wanted to. Bet for 5k he would do it private.

Also the chance of the wall crumbling is about 95% it will be a rubble filled old stone wall and will be neigh on impossible to remove it and keep it in the same condition, transport it, then put it into a gallery or into another wall. Thats why

TBF, no-one forced anyone to bid, they've hardly had their pants pulled down over it, it was their own choice

the whole point of banksy's work is that it should never be for sale, and that it belongs on walls that will get painted.

people are missing the point some what I think!

And I bet Banksy wouldn't do it privately for 5k. Clearly you know nothing on the subject 'baza'. I'm not for one minute saying I like Banksy, nor the prices his work is currently commanding. Much the same as Warhol. However, while theres demand for it, it's going to fetch decent money.

people here obviously don't understand art

correct me if i'm wrong... but isn't the mona lisa ''just a painting''. costs millions...as does a lot of other famous paintings...

this is exactly the same.
