I suppose they aren't for venturing out of cities in though. I shouldn't imagine they'll be quite a rickity as you'd think. They won't be allowed on the roads unless there safety is checked out first? I wouldn't have thought they will sell them over here anyway?

Go to a city then.
They would work VERY well in London. I should imagine other cities too, Manchester, Birmingham etc...
As for trusting something that costs £1k, I ca't agree with that. I ride a metal frame with 2 wheels and an engine, and that cars probably safer than my bike Esp at slow speeds in town.

Thing is, this has also been designed as modern car for places like india etc...
DOH AK posted the same above....
Their roads are FAR worse than ours, yet they still bomb round in tuk tuks etc.. Hardly no suspension, and not much quality..
The english just expect everythign to be nice and quiet and quality..
In some countries, they still use 50's american cars, and when they go wrong, they fix them as its all they have....... The english don't have this attitude

I think you would need to SVA it, same as any other import which doesn't have type approval over here.
If it passed as standard, that might be a nice little business for someone. I would have one so long as tax and insurance weren't too silly.

India really needed it to be electric or some form of less poluting engine. Its a good business move for TATA, but not for India...
Indian cities are jam packed (worse than UK) with cars and bikes as it is..... this new car for the masses isnt going to help shit, just make it far worse.
The point about familes on bikes is very true. Seen about 6 on a bike... Father driving, ma side sadle.... 4 kids perched all over.
