right i need to get my corsa down to a mechanics garage but the engine is currently not running. I dont own a trailer and dont have a licence to drive with one?

any ideas?

o yea car has no brakes either so definately not with a rope.

suppose could get a tow bar. are they expensive?

Have you got breakdown cover? If so, ring em up and get it towed to garage. If you don't then take it out, might be able to get some cover for £40 ish?

SHould be able to find one cheap, just sorts the the tow car + lack of brakes problem lol

cant tow it without insurance or mot unless its on a trailer

the car has mot and still has insurance on it, but that insurance is pointless anyway as it was from when the 1.4 engine was in there. just havent cancelled it yet.

Yes, you can ring companys up and organise a pick up, I'm unsure if the car needs to have a handbrake though so the car does not roll with the chains. You would need to call and ask.

Other then that i would finding a car trailer that you can borrow/rent and trailer it yourself.

well the car does have a handbrake

i dont have a licnece that allows me to trailer the car down so would have to try and find a volunteer lol

Parents? Cousins? Uncles, If someone has the older type of licence then they will beable to tow.

you do on new ones yes, but old ones have the catorgory/picture symbol to say you can tow. IE my dad..

Catagory B+E to tow a load larger than 750kg...

Just phone a few local recovery companies from the yellow pages mate, they will be able to sort you out

Worst decision ever not to use a bar.

Just get a flatbead with a winch & plenty ratchet clamps to take it, Ive had 4 take cars away from my house over the years, £50 a pop iirc!!

If lucky, your local garage my offer a recovery service! My local one did for my sister when she broke down wid no cover!
