Ek9's are nice cars, but definetly not worth the £6k odd price tag most come with.
I had the idea the Ek9 Type R was going to be rapid but I felt a bit let-down after a good drive in one.
Nice to look at and it handled very well indeed (tein coilovers) but just not as quick as i expected

^^^^^^^^^^^ agree handling is awsome but not wrth 6-7k,,n not that much quick than a eg sir which is cheaper, plus there only so much u can do 2 the b16b as its a high compression engine

im not sure on the 5.7 though...
mine feels a tad quicker to 60 and I though mine was low 7's
As I stated. The 5.7 is the figure for the N1, which was a marginally lighter EK9, without recaros or air con and whatnot. The figure is about 6.0 seconds for the normal EK9. Its surprisingly quick and i'd be surprised if the Cupra was any quicker. Even with a remap, i'd guess that it'd be close and not noticeably quciker..

My mate is building an EG Civic with B20B3 engine with individual throttle bodies, Stage 3 cams, high compression pistons, Cusco LSD, Fidanza lightened flywheel too and loooaaads of other nice bits!
Got some D2 Coilovers too
Hes already went from a 1500 LSi to a 1600 ESi, then 3 1600 VTi engines later (The last engine was B16A block bored with EK9 Type R pistons, B16 head with EK9 Type R valve springs, Crower stage 2 cams and Skunk 2 inlet, went well and made 202bhp), hes bulding this 2000 B20B3 monster.
Piccies of engine....
