Far as im concerned yes as my car had an engine rebuild before i bought it and was done by our local vaux dealer. But may depend on the individual garage themselves!

Probably not, most franchise garages are just partofit depo's. IF they could do it, they would charge a fortune!

What happened then? Out of curiosity!! As want an engine transplant in my car soon, and if goes ahead would prob want the new engine i put in to have a re-build so wouldn't mind vauxhall doing it if they ultimatly do

I thought they just supplied on the exchange thing, charged you £1k for a refurbed block then send yours off to an engineering workshop to get refurbed.

the price isn't too bad if you cant rebuild an engine yourself, and have to pay for all part's plus the cost of labour....

Just rebuild it yourself. Not that hard if you have a haynes manual and a bit of knowledge. I rebuilt a c20xe myself and I had never even seen the inside of an engine before.

trading standards might let me take it else where and get the bill sent to the first garage
