Won an item.

Not paid.

Don't want to pay.

What will happen?

How do they get my telephone number?

Your phone number is probably held by paypal.

You'll probably get bad feedback from the seller.

You could pretend someone bid on it for you, e.g little brother/flatmate or someone, my mate bid on a yacht on my ebay at £8,000, told the guy it was my little brother and after loads of moaning he accepted it and let me off.

If the seller isnt understanding they will report you to ebay/paypal as a non payer, could be banned.

Email the seller with a cock and bull story and see what they say.

Isn't that still data protection though as they've not asked me for permission.

Or would it be in the small print

How is it data protection?, by entering into a bid you have made an agreement to purchase the item. Thus your details become available to the seller to send the item and to include a contact telephone number incase of any issues. (held by paypal etc...). If you don't wish to be contacted then don't waste peoples time and enter double bids on items in an attempt to win one or the other. As often can be the case you will win both . You could at least offer the seller to pay for any fees they'll incur.

Kinda your fault for not checking the listing when it was originally posted? You will also get a strike and a non-sent item, possible ban....
