somehow i doubt that, phone nfu mutual!

its cheaper to insure a 17 year old on a Y reg. defender 90 than it is to insure me on a 55 reg 1.2 corsa. both are with a 17 y.o as the policy holder and only driver

I doubt they'd legally be allowed to ask for evidence of insurance quotes.

Checking it's insured when you collect it maybe, but random quotes, I wouldn't have thought so.

Why does it matter anyway, if he wants to blag it, let him.

17 year old + 190 bhp Civic

I remember trying to insure a 1989 Fiesta XR2 when I was 17 and the insurance company chucked a random figure of £11,600 Third party only

Totally agree.... and i drove a ctr for 2 months when i was 17. Insurance was £560 for two months... i didn't pay it though.

Edit: Ex's parents did.. incase it looks as though i wasn't insured

Just what the insurance companies are trying to put a stop to with good reason IMO

Good luck with them even giving you a second look when you turn up asking for a test drive in the CTR Will probably direct you to the nearest second hand car sales.

I can't imagine there would be too much of a problem with most test drives these days. With all these finance deals on the cars and monthly insurance payments etc most people can afford it quite comfortably. Rather than when you had to buy the car straight off etc

Be yourself. If I saw a youngster turning up in a suit I'd thnk wannabe straight away. Try too hard and they'll turn you away, I'd just wear jeans/shoes and a shirt/jumper Some garages are fussy with age, some aren't obviously all down to their insurance.
