i have an astra 1.4 for sale. i got an email about2 days ago saying do i still have it an what was lowest price? so i replied saying £750 bottom line.
they then replied saying why was i selling it? is any thing wrong with it? how long i owned it? so on.....
reply saying it was all good..... then i get this 1 today.

he phoned me earlier was saying he had bought a load of things from uk for his girlfriend for christmas an want me to send rest of the money to his recomemded shipping co. i swear it sounded like phone jacker off E4

Its a really old scam though, been going for years and years. Didn't think they'd bother still doing it.
What happens is the cheque looks like it clears in your account (after 5-7 days or whatever). You do the deal, then the cheque bounces 2wks or so after. Not sure the bank policy on clearing a cheque, then it bouncing, but you'll loose out in the end.

got another email this afternoon.....
Wayne,my husband told me he called you he want me to explain to you that while he is sending the 3,700 pounds is that,there are some things that i personally bought for christmas which my husband reputable shipper will com down to your location for the pick up of the car.So the remaing balance on the cheque will be use to ship the car and some other things i bought for christmas,as soon as the cheque as fully clear from your bank then you can have the car release and the document relating to sales of the car so all what i need from you now is the address and name that will be written on the cheque so that my husband will forward your details to is debtor.More so i dont want to miss this great car of your's hope to read from you soonest.

It might help them if you are stringing them along this much, im actually appalled that you've had to ask us if its a scam though..

The english is very quite poor, but then again so is most peoples in this country. Cant wait for someone to try an scam me, im going to have some fun.
