The cost to the insurance company of pulling and filling is £603.
I can see a new panel being a tad more.

dont forget about legal fee's, solicitors, admin fee's etc, they all charge- and charge through the roof at that for insurance claims as it is one person that causes it- and one person that is paying- the party to blames insurance company

This is gutting same thing happend to my GSi and the driver was uninsured.
Is this going through the other parties insurance? If so its at your discretion what body shop you use. I had this problem and I didnt want to send mine over to somewhere I didnt know to get it fixed so I went through a claims management company an I got to choose the body shop I wanted and i got a brand new Golf GT courtesy car out of it too.
In the end my Gsi had the pannel beaten and skimmed with a special kind of filler and after the job was done you counld't tell it was done.

That wont get wrote off in a million years Ben. Not a fucking chance! I work at a repair centre, we repair worse than that. Its an easy pull out and repair. If you want a new panel, it will have filler in 3 places anyway, so wether they fill that bit, or weld on a new one and fill it. Either way its going to have filler in.

Yeah through the other party's insurance.
