as iam ill at the moment my brother decided to go and pick me gf up for me as she was bored,
car was running fine om the drive there, came back out to the car and tryed to start it and he heard a bang and lots of metal tinging, opsss
greenflag time


the lads in the bodyshop hw works in reckon it was a snaped cambelt but we new it was atleast bent valves, so when he came in last night he took the head off

the result, 4 bent valves and well one piston gone, lol

oh yeah and you can see the headgsket has gone between 2 and 3







looks like new engine time so will hopefuly be back even better soon

ouch i have not seen a cambelt snap do that much damage to the piston before

as far as iam aware i dont think the cambelt snapped, dont no what caused it.

plan is to try and find a x16xe and put that in and tranfer his inlet etc over onto it

what inlet is it? i have a z16xe (same block, newer style head with larger triangular inlet ports that i was going to chuck away, bolts in on same mounts, and in theory should be able to use existing sensors, ecu, loom + g/box.
rocker coveris different so standard/lexmaul inlet wont fit, but mantzel/dbilas style will
£free, but would need collecting?
