watched american gangster the other night and wasnt overly impressed, not a bad film.
How ever, i watched rise of the footsoldier at the weekend and that was a mint film! a prequal to essex boys for anyone who hasnt seen that either. deffo recommended

Watched amarican gangster last night, was well impressed 'my man' 
Thought plot was good, wasn't too violent which was a bit dissapoint after the opening scene
Though denzel played his character very well, and story was interesting. Not going to start posting details of storyline but bits were quite predictable.

I think you'll find he's african american not african 
Doesn't fight any racial prejudice (only when he's 'overlooked' as being able to be top man which is hardly prejudice).
In a big city, yes there all over the world
Hardly works his way up from nothing like tony montana
He doesn't spend stupidly (fur coat) though, that's not what it's about for him, it;s about family (where were toni montana's family in scarface)
Doesn't launder any of the money as far as you can see.
Kills people as he has a set off old school beleifs (wants there to be order and some kind of misguided honour amongst theives and not police)
