Solo cards are pure debit card, they link directly to the account so wont let you go over in any way.

Switch/Maestro are different as they like a halfway house between a debit and a credit card, and any transaction £10 or below is guarenteed by the Maestro. I racked up £800 ON TOP of my overdraught limit because of the £10 guarentee thing a few years back, hence the bank not letting me have another.


Ahhhh, thats what i needed to know, so basically you can get into trouble with a maestro but you cant with a solo

You get both Holiday and phone insurance...Im on that and make use of both so saves me money over the year even though its £10 a month.

Im with natwest, iv got a maestro and they kept tryin to persuade me to upgrade to advantage gold but its like £12 a month u have to pay and it wasnt beneficial to me.

exactly, same here, always has had both since i joined when i was 11... lol
