Having lived in North wales virtually all my life I have never actually walked up snowdon, even though its on my doorstep! SO come sunday im going to do it. Has anyone off here done it? If so how long roughly does it take? I need to work out what time to get there really so it doesnt get dark when and i get stuck up the mountain

unless there was something at the top, like a free lap dancing club, i cant see why people would walk up it. walking uphill for fun doesnt sound that good of an idea on a sunday.
each to their own though

thing is, if you get half way and its hard work to walk up, you still have to walk back. no matter which way you look at it, give up halfway and your still walking. train, well it means you can walk about once up the top without worrying about walking back down. im lazy i guess.

I've done it. First half is easy, then it gets a bit harder, but it's still an easy mountain to get to the top of.
I'd say it's a good 4-5 hours to come down, so you're best doing it on a nice day (although it's busy then)
It's a good walk to do with some mates because it's a piece of piss, last time I did it, there was a woman in a dress carrying her son up it

Ive been up it too. Theres a few different routes you can take going from not much more than a leisurely stroll, to finding your own way up which is a lot more challenging. Café at the top too

I think there is about 6 of us going up, quite looking forward to the challenge. They are building a new cafe at the top apparently at the mo so im not sure if the old one is still there. wish me luck
