Does this sound right :
They wanted my car to go to Arnold Clark for repairs.
I said Hell no & told them where I want it to get fixed.
They agree but say because I made the decision where to take it, I now get no courtesy car.

I had the same situation earlier this year after someone drove into my car. Adrmiral said to take it to Arnold Clark, I told them to GTF. I then spoke to the bodyshop I wanted to use and they sorted me out with a car while mine was being repaired.

Ive had a bad experience with a crash repair that was sent to a company of their wish, used a non genuine bumper & the paint started peeling off months later.
The place im taking my car is one of the few approved VW/Audi accident repair centers in Scotland. Also when I went over yesterday they had a 911 & an elise on the ramps & several Mk4's in for bodywork so I know its a decent place!!
Thats why.

Thats bad news
At lease your excess is low and you have protected no claims. Looks like your only problem will be getting to and from college

I wouldnt want to take it to Arnold Clark either,
they probably have a deal with them for courtesy cars though, and that's why you won't get one

they have to let you take it where you want, sometimes they want a couple of quotes though, not sure where you stand with a courtesy car, if you paid to have im sure they would have to stand by it, just say your going to ask the ombudsmen if that correct to them

I think there is normally a clause that they will give you a car if it goes to one of their repair centers.

and i dont blame you for taking it elsewhere, i would most repair center jobs iv seen have been shocking, with even worse customer service and aftercare

Yer I told the girl on the phone that the VBRA states that Im allowed to pick.
She then said well we'll let you take it there but you'll need to get 1 additional quote.
Told her the radiator had burst & spewed the coolant so it would need collected.
She said ok then just arrange it to get picked up by my choice of bodyshop & for them to fax a quote.
Bodyshop might be able to give me a courtesy car next week.
