There are also many factors which cannot be seen, who knows what has been done to it?

Oh, you can also bet that South Africa is a damn site warmer than here, meaning the strip will also be hotter, giving better traction.

The UK is a long way behind other countries when it comes to 1/4 mile.

hus having warmer air too.. also downsides too it....

The difference is very negligable though, its supposed to equate to around 1% loss for every 3.6 degrees or something like that.

As far as i know, an i do have a few friends in SA there is not a 10sec corsa.
There quickest to date is a 2.0 16v on carbs with aload of gas which runs 11.9 (i have the mag somewhere a mate sent over with it in).
They do have 2 astras which are FWD which run in the 10's and i am sure he has just made it into the 9's.
There is alot of differances over there to here one being they all run methanol.
