Don't be ridiculous. And yes, you were trying to say it's a good thing to have disconnected exhaust trims on a bumper as you can take it off easily, I fail to see what relevance that is? Aside from if you go looking to buy a car that a bodyshop would find easier to work on after a rear ender.

Can't imagine it's much harder if the a car's exhausts slip sensibly into a properly designed hole in the bumper.

The sales pitch thing was just a funny image I had in my head, I apologize if that's what got your back up.

They're connected to the exhaust Nath, you can't waggle your hand between the backbox ans the tailpipes

What a silly idea.

your not getting me are you... I'm not saying its a 'good' thing... I'm just saying why the hell is it so 'bad'?? it isnt.

The removing rear bumper thing was the only advantage of it i could think of, and the resulting snug fit look of the tail pipe ends in the bumper

Ok, fair enough.

Strikes me as they wanted to design the rear to make it look powerful by slapping on a few tail trims. It wouldn't surprise me if they had made the choice to do that before thinking about how to make it work properly.

The other big Lexus come to think of it is the same, the one that parks itself. I think that if you're designing something aimed at the high end German cars and you do this sort of thing, it makes it look cheap and rushed.
