Hello. Went to look at an Escort RS turbo on Wednesday night. The car was gorgeous. In really good condition. The guy was tellin me the car is 1 of 50 cars built in germany. Any one know anything about them. Is it true. Does it make them worth more or more desirable.

Its a proper genuine escort turbo.

He took ages looking for one and was very fussy on getting the right one.

Milage sounds right as it lives in the garage lol

As Jr mentioned but some 1986 S2's were built in Germany and aparently they rust the worst, so I would steer clear of anybuilt in Germany

As far as i'm aware, they are all of nazi construction, I may be wrong though.

There were a few very limited dealer specials like the 1.9 and the rattlesnake kitted ones but they were done post factory I think.

I think that's MK IVs that were built over here actually Fad. It's normally C or D reg XR3is and they literally fall to pieces

I believe there was an issue with the primering process at the factory as far as i've heard in the past and you see cars from that year with next to no arches left, door skins seperating and even rust on the roof and quarter panels.

They are really easy to spot

all rs's were built in germany

ask him wtf he's going on about,

maybe he just doesnt know much about fords, if its a clean car with no rust it'll be worth a decent price,

check sills and battery tray for rust or signs of repair,
