hate this one...

"starting salary required"

nasty. i was thinking of putting just above what im on now? currently earning just over £13k not including overtime etc... might put £14.5k as thats ten percent on top? obviously i wanna be earning more than im on now otherwise i wouldnt be going for it. but they might get like five people and just look for whoever asks for the least?

a short description of the job...

trainee computer engineer

the varied work includes repairing pc based equipment, restoring and resetting to individual customer requirements and assisting with telephone support on our customer helpline

its 45hrs p/w btw...

Nothing wrong with putting your desired salary in if you are confident of what you can offer. I'd be asking for more than that tbh. Check out similar jobs on the internet.

BTW - I've got an interview for marketing exec in a liverpool law firm on 20th Nov. Some recruiters sent my cv out from monster and called me, said I wasn't interviewing if it was less than £22k don't even want the job tbh.

Put 17k so your in the sort of middle ground...

When I started my job I was asked if I'd be happy with 25k.. My answer was no, that was for a Salesmans job though so I think they wanted to know you had good drive to earn..

well i put £14,500 - £16,000 in the end lol

it does only say "starting salary" so if they bring it up in an interview ill say i would like to work up to around £20,000 eventually

experience, well i have the IT/maths A level or equivilent which they asked for... other than that just done some work experience and brief employment in a computer shop! though i do do telephone support and stuff at current job...
