Is this good to use long-term?

I have a brand new Eagle F1 with a tiny hole on the shoulder of the tyre. Means that the tyre goes down a fair bit overnight! I was going to write off the tyre and buy a new one. Tyre places have got them on backorder at the moment apparently and I didn't want the Falken they offered me

Mate today said stick a tin of tyreweld in it. I hadn't thought of it before.... Might just do it anyway.

Someone tell me to just do it please.

You can only do certain miles with tyre weld and then the tyres a write off. Stick a spare on if availible.

Tyre appears to be useless anyway so does it really matter if it ruins the tyre?

They wouldn't be on back order for that long I'd have thought..

They are just to get you home in emergancy!

We had a car recovered in smashed up, we found out the owner had drove nearly 200 miles with tyre weld in and had a blow out!

oh dear 200 miles on tyre weld

Have to keep at low speeds so the tyre doesnt expand too much as well.

I would imagine it is a figure of speech meaning that the tyre is no longer any good and not worth repairing.
