Last night at about 2am I was woken up by a disturbance coming from the shop at the end of my street (2 houses away), I looked out the bay window in the lounge and saw a group of youths (aged 16 ish) walking up the road away from the shop. I rang the police and explained that the shop attracts crime/theft like a magneta dnI gave my very best discription of the time and what I heard....
The lady on the end of the phone said "maybe its just fireworks" (remember this for later)
Anyways... I hung up and waited downstairs and then I heard a louder *BANG* so I rang the police back to tell them a crime was happening as I spoke.
They sent a police officer over to have a look-see and after 2 mins he left. With nobody else in his car...
Anyway.. Turns out the shop was'nt robbed
But the vacant flat above the shop was fucked up from the inside out
Which is funny because the woman on the phone said..
quote: Maybe its just kids and fireworks.

Somehow I doubt fireworks kicked the fuck out of a flat.
So anyways... Although I was as descriptive as I could be (I did tell them there was an empty flat above the shop) and I kept an eye out for anyone the police seemed to thing I was either a child under 12 or an OAP whos worried about 'gunfire from 'nam' The police couldnt give two fucks and when they did show up they left after 2 mins.
What should I do next time, go up there armed to the teeth?

I've phoned the police before, given good descriptions, someone has come round and taken a very detailed 6 page statement. By this point however the incident has happened and the culpritts have driven off.
I won't hesitate to call them again though, after all its my right!
