No you dont get paid

They cover expenses for travle/food and IF your employer refsies to pay you (which they legally cna do) then they also cover loss of earnings but IIRC its at a set rate

Im amazed I havent been called up yet esp as Im a memeber of 2 professional bodies :S Hope I dont though, so cant be fucked!

If it's a standard rate and you already get sub-standard pay then undoubtedly some people will make money out of it. I most certainly won't.

They don't really cover travel either they'll reimburse you the cheapest travel ticket you could have possibly got to get to the court i.e. a week saver bus or train ticket, rather than pay petrol and parking etc...

would only be good if it was an interesting case.

my dad has done it and the case was about sum guys who tried to rip cash machines out of a banks wall with a jcb.

think they all got caught and they had a police chase with the guy in the jcb!

They cover all expenses, lunch / parking / petrol
They will reimburse your employeer for the wages if your employer still pays you...
If your employer doesn't pay you or self employed you have to proove what you earn and they will reimburse you.

Might be not bad if it's and interesting case.

most of this is utter crap....

I did it, they paid train ticket and 2 bus tickets per day and also paid petrol in car when I drove (but not the £2.50 parking ticket) at something stupid like 40p a mile so I was better off driving the 40 mile round trip

Got £5.50 for food each day, which I did not use but went to the pud instead and claimed the £55 back at the end of the 2 weeks

got free drinks and snacks, pool, TV, internet etc

work still paid me which was OK but some people did not get paid so they claimed a set amount of money back per day

i loved every minute of it

I did Jury duty last month.

You DO NOT get paid for attending , however your wages will be covered and any travel/food expenses returned.

Its really shit too, waste of time.
