well ive been thinking about going to college next year to do a mechanics course, the only thing that bothers me is that i have my own plave which ive had for 3 years and im used to having money most of the time as i have a well payed job.
there arent many job prospects where i am which is why i thought of going to college.
the whole courses together add up to 3-4 years with the 2nd-4th year being in a garage and doing some college work.
what kind of pay do fully qualified mechanics get after thier college courses and do they get paid while on day release from the college??
any info would be greatlfuly appreciated
cheers
P.S. my college coursae wouldnt be starting till late on next year so i got alot of time to think about it
these are the courses i would be doing

tbh there is no money in mechanices unless you own a garage an then its nothing to write home about. Choose your future by what you enjoy doing an not where the money is. If enjoy working on cars an thats what you want to see yourself doing then go for it.
If its a problem about leaving your current job an then going to college, are there any night courses available, but to do that you would have really want it and use most of your spare time to do the course.

Funnily enough i've just been speaking to a place about getting onto a plumbing course, complete change of what I know but decent time to change as have moved back to my mums and am not into a serious job at the minute.
A trade is where it's at imo, sick of office politics and don't really buy into the type of work I know anymore.
