my car is losing power and has loads of flat spots, it has an engine management light on (a car with a spanner in the middle) took it to a garage and they put it on the machine. it brings up no faults. he says it may be the egr valve, is this likely?

he said they will be 100 pound ish?

will changing this without resetting the fault on the ecu fix it? will the ecu recognise the faulty part has been changed itself?

if the eml is on for more than 30 seconds or something it should have a fault code?

I think you can reset the ecu by un plugging it

Well it wont harm it if you just try

I know it works on the motronic ecu
