240 is about average from a 1.2 nova, I know someone that claimed to have got 210mph out of a 2lt nova in 3rd gear.

with the right stretch of road i can believe it. i've reached 100 in my 12v (M40 j10-15 somewhere along there - in both directions) so a 1.2 getting more doesnt seem unreasonable - however it is a Nova, old engine, its a box, he sounds like a prat if he cant find teh middle pedal!
