Endsleigh are rubbish full stop.
aimed at students when it comes to home contents insurance (halls) but refused at the door for car insurance. my firsy yr was with them as i got a discount at the time under cutting everyone else by £100 (forget how i got the discount now!)
the quote of £600 (Fuly comp) was extremely fair at the time, and 6months into the policy when i had a total loss at fault accident they were great. everyone warned me about Insurance companys refusing to pay up and it taking forever. but with 5weeks i had the cheque in my hand, additional costs in the post and my replacement car insured without too much difficulty.
when my renewal came up "we are pleased to offer you a competitive price of £900! that was £200 MORE than other insurance companies.
they have their moments but i wont be rushing back to them

You may as well not pay your premium then every year.

Had exactly the same. Added £40 for my angel eyes but nothing for my Alloys wheels or back box.
However, they wouldnt insure a bodykit what-so-ever AND they tried upping my premiums by ove £1000!!! for removing my rear seats.
Absolute joke. That was Endsleigh too!

Read your small print. It'll probably say the vehicle must be as it was when it left the factory etc etc. Basically, your insurance is null and void without declaring mods.

I work at a repair garage anyway so if needs be it can all come off and go back to standard. Apart from the engine.

Agreed! Might not be about getting money back sometimes though, insurance can sometimes refuse to pay out at all
But dont see why people insure a set of springs, id rather save the money and take them off if needed.

You say that, but this was the time scale of my crash in February.
8:30am, crash.
8:45am, phoned insurance company as my radiator had blown so the car wasn't drivable. AA wouldn't recover because I'd been in a crash.
10am, recovery truck is there.
10:30am, arrival at crash repair centre.
10:45am, I'm driving away in a courtesy car.
When the hell would I be able to remove my lowering springs? Especially as I couldn't do it myself.

40mm 4cm, not many people who dont know about modifications would know its lowered, especially on 13's.
Estimator at my work was going to void a claim on an Astra he thought had been lowered, turned out had a boot full of breezeblocks. Estimators at my work know fuck all. We get plenty of cars in to repair with mods. Still get repaired. How much extra was it for your Depos and badgeless grille?

Nothing. I haven't declared them. 1) it wasn't on the modification list on the net 2) I hadn't declared them on my last policy with Zurich (who the Endsleigh one is underwritten by). When I had a crash, they didn't even query it, just replaced them with a Vauxh V-grill and standard lights.
