im having a bit of bother fitting this steering wheel, ive taken the old boss off and im left with the splined part of the steering colomn, when i place the steering wheel on it doesnt go far enough onto the colomn so the splined parts can interlink as the clock spring is in the way.
any ideas how to get round it? iv tried putting on a bigger socket and hitting it but that doesnt work,
i just cant get it on far enough to put the nut on the end.

takes two people, one to force steering wheel in second to get nut on.. jobs a good en..
what we did was connected wheel to boss so had a larger area to put pressure on while we got boss in place then after the 100000x of doing it to get the wheel to actualy be straight it was easy

Is it not just a case of brute force, if i remember rightly just have to keep trying till you can get a few threads onto the column, then you can rax the thing up with a ratchet....
