My brother was a Full time student until recently. He's had a P/T job with a large store stacking shelves/checkout etc for the past 3 years. He passed his exams and applied for a job as an IT Tech with the same firm.
Went for his 2nd interview today. One of the guys interviewing him said " there's one thing concerning us a bit............................. we've looked at your Bebo account   " My brother had on it 'I'm working for S*****D ohhhh the joys" They suggested that he change it incase any of the big wigs see it!!!!

A lot of big companies have started doing this, usually with MySpace and Facebook. I know there was one where a bloke in america got offered a job until they checked his facebook and his interests were getting fucked up with his homies and going looking for hoes

Remember hearing about this on the news. They reported on a girl who I believe had just finished her exams at university and went out and got pissed with friends to celebrate. She put pics of the night out on MySpace and it prevented her from getting a job she was going for as the company looked on her MySpace page and saw the drunken pics of her.
Something like that anyway.

How can people judge wether they get a job by looking on their social life. That is utter crap.
If they are capable and have the qualities to do the job, then what they do in their own time is their own business

To be fair, my brother said on this occasion they were having a bit of a laugh about it. Think he was a bit shocked when they mentioned it tho

I think the way they look at it is, someone who is going out getting drunk is more likley 2 call in sick due to having a hang over, to that of a G33K who doesnt go out, and is in promt and early..

two junior tennis players have been thrown out of the LTA training academy thing because of what they put on their facebook pages.
good idea tbh. if i was thinking about hiring somebody and checked their myspace/face book etc and saw they were smoking dope or something, they wouldnt be getting the job!!
