took it to elite direct yesterday and within 2 minutes of doing the tracking he knew exactly what the problem was - bent front drivers side shock absorber.

it had very bad negative camber iirc, he said if the wishbone had bent it would have been positive camber, might have got that the wrong way round.

so i trusted them enough to part with £138 for a new front shock and the fitting charge and re-aligning the front wheels.

steering wheel is perfectly straight now

top job, would recommend them any day

well it was either that or drive about trying to hold on to a dodgy steering wheel whilst having to pay out for 2 new tyres in the near future

i just needed it fixed before work so took it to a well known place, couldn't be bothered with the hassle.

all money wasted this month, 138 on this and 80 to repair the key mark

sounds like you have got off lightly really mate, good that its sorted, but could have been alot worse ie-

bent wheel, bent bottom arm, shocker, wheel bearing, loads of stuff could have broke if you hit it much harder
