Set alone tuning states, drivers, road condition, fuel or any other thing thats debatable......what would win in a simple straight race, a valver corsa (red top) or a 53plate type r? and by how much?

I would say a type R as they seem to average similiar times down pod as 2lt novas, where as corsa seem to be at least a half second slower. Depends massively on what base corsa it is, if its a GSI then you have no chance. But if its a povety spec one then it might be closer.

I've driven both, drove a type r (53 plate) round for a month or so, EVERYTHING tried to race it. Never came across a redtop corsa though

I'd say the type r would win to be honest.

If you're talking standard redtop engine in the corsa.
