looking for the best way to get rid of the engine noise on a 1.2 i currently have a peco 3" backbox which a mate gave me for free and it does the job up until bout 3.5k-4.5k rpm then its just engine noise after than.what can i do to get a nice note all the time? may sound chav but i like exhausts that are quite loud and deep,any help would be good,cheers

get rid of the middle box, you'll hear exhaust note all the way thru the rev range then.

cheers.yeh was thinkg of that.was looking at a remus centre pipe.have seen a couple on here.one guy was sellin 1 for free to any1 who wanted it and i asked how much he would want for it to get it couriered but never got back to me.how much do you think an exhaust place that made the likes of powerflow exhausts etc would charge to get the mid box removed and a bit of pipe welded in? would weld it myself as i am a welder but dont have my own welder or ramp

i've got a remus centre section on mine and a k+n airfilter with a magnex backbox sounds not bad

cool.ive heard the k+n induction kits are useless,my preference would be a pipercross.my mate had a 1.2 16v with a pipercross cone filter,peco 4" exhaust[which shouldnt be louder than my 3" one] and had his mid box cut out and a pipe welded in,sounded very good indeed
