Got a few people that havent declared their car SORN, its off the road, not taxed and just sitting there. Is it that the DVLA will just finally catch up with them with a big fat dirty fine in the mail? (whoever is on the V5 that is)

Anyone had first had experience of getting bummed by the DVLA for this?

Well when your tax runs out if you dont get it taxed again, and dont notify them, they will hit you with an £80 fine (maybe £40 if you pay in a certain amount of time)

i bought a car without tax, put it in my name and about a month later got a fine, £40 for no tax and £30 admin fee, so i got raped for £70, my fault though, so easy to fill in the form!

Yeah I got stung for my black car which was in bits on a shelf and obviously didn't need taxing.

System stinks. I would have done better registering it to M. Mouse.
