Now everyone knows that's a lie Ash. You can get any job without a degree, you just need experience. Ask anyone who has never been to uni and has never even thought of going to uni and they'll tell you that!
Yeh but 99% of places won't hire you without a degree, so how do you get the experience?
Ed and I have degrees, we're taking the piss

I had a bizarre afternoon today.
I gave a talk to two groups of 'cross graduates'....basically people who have a 'degree' in something or other. They have basically found out their degree isn't worth the paper its written on, and are fast tracking a degree in another subject.
Now that got me thinking, esp in light of this thread author who has done two years out.
The people I was talking to this afternoon had a degree in something poo.....but are now doing an 18 month part course and will have a degree that somebody else has studied for for 4 years plus for at the end of it.
So today I had 30+ graduates on a cross training course who could ask me questions....cue an embarassing silence. I would have hoped that 'one' would have asked me what his job was all about but not one did.
So tbh.....fuck UNI. a total waste of time career wise IMO. I would take a hands on person with 5 years experience going through a ONC/HND every time over a graduate.

90% of the people I work with have been to Uni and they do earn more. But then they are doing more complex things than me and it does not interest me at all!
Really if you are doing something which you enjoy then the route in which you take to get there doesn't matter at all. It's just annoying to hear stupid fuckers who whinge about not getting paid enough and how they hate thier jobs complain about people trying to better themselves by getting an education so they can go down the path that they wish.

I assumed it was pretty certain you'd have one, not like uni is hard after all.

TBH I find that when most people say "I didn't go to uni and ive got a good job", that their idea of a good job differs considerably to mine.

We can be called bums, dossers or what ever you like. But most of us will have come out of uni thousands in debt. We have to pay that off..
