What annoys me greatly is that the damage will cost £15k-£20k but he was fined £1k.
Surely he should pay it all and not have insurers and therefore insured drivers pick up the bill.

Courts go on the offenders income when dishing out compensation, so if they are dole dossing scum then they hardly get anything to pay, and they pay it back at £5 p/w or something stupid

What possesses these people 
You see a nice car in the street you either admire it or think I don't like it, wouldn't have done that blah blah and you walk on. I don't have the compulsion to suddenly go and kick 7 shades or shit out of the car or key it and jump on the roof. The courts should rule on top of the fine you are allowed to take a prized item of theirs (if any ) and smash it to bits with a sledgehammer, while they watch.
