we have received a letter from this company at our address, but with some1's name we dont recognise, the debt it to some company via barclay card, now this letter has asked for a payment, and offered a reduced settlement fee...the letter head and foot is like a photocopy and the signature is printed, which led me to believe its a fake letter, but reading on the net, they seems to be a real company....can they do anything? because no1 lives at this address with that name?
we can either pay via cash/cheque sent via special delivery, or credit card or via bank transfer

getting worried now what might happen as i dnt understand...its money is owed to a company via barclaycard...but we have never heard of this person who is in debt? we have never recieved letter only couple weeks back, but we sent it back because no1 lives at this address by that name and never has

ring the company? possible error, and if it is a genuine company, and you mention it, you could find out its fake
either way as it's not addressed to you, don't think there is anything they can claim off you

when i bought my house it had previously been rented out and for ages we were getting letters for all sorts of past tennants, from banks,bailiffs etc, i just rang them up and explained that i had just bought the house etc and the letters soon stopped, any that kept sending i just wrote return to sender on and sent them back and they eventually stopped.
