High stress engine and isn't all that good. The low pressure turbo (think its a 2.0 16v T) is the better turbo unit to have. Much less stress and can be tuned more reliably.

my mates dad was going on about this engine a few years ago, uses GM running gear..
anyone ever converted one of these into a vaux

Should be a simple conversion as the big block vaux gearboxes bolt straight onto them.. i have been considering it..

According to abbot and saabflight they are good for 400bhp without touching the internals

From experience when commenting on the reliablilty factor, unless you are muppetsport running serious power the relaibility problems people speak of are genrally down to things like sensor and loom issues inc fuelling etc. Nothing to do with pistons valves etc. Everyone said i was mad not to "rebuild" my engine before i put it in as it would be "fucked" Well that was the fashoin at the time anyway.

Still going strong 3years later so i beleive running 280bhp now too, oh on an f20 which aparently will blow within 5miles....

Dont beleive everything you rerad on the internet
