Obviously you have to get another but how does this work? What i mean is will any old ECU for the same engine work or what?

No funny answers just i have no idea.

i would of thought so aslong as its the same engine. cant see why they wouldnt. but then again i do know nothing about engines lol.

Where would you pick up just an ECU though??

some modern engines need the ecu coded into things like the injection computer n stuff

I'd check ident numbers on the ECU's to get the same one. Would have thought there will be some variances in them (ie if the car has ABS, Powersteering, AC, RCL etc etc).

Reason i ask there is a LET for sale on Ebay and says has everything bar the ECU and gearbox and so thats how i wondered how you get around this

Pretty sure you can use any ECU as they are pretty old engines. If not you could probably get an aftermarket ECU?

On an LET you'll need the transponder bits aswell.

My mate didn't get these and had to pay £200 to get in uncoded.

or chip it and that disables the transponder stuff

i had no ecu with my let but mr beard supplied me with a PJ ecu had no problems

pj and i think pk ecus are not coded .. the other one is ... think it starts .. H? got a spare standard pj ecu if you get stuck

yep pj and pk are ok
the HD one is the later coded one
