the 2.2 VTi's are the newer shapes with around 210 bhp IIRC. The orange shape one above 2.2 vtecs only made around 190ish..

1 thing that can be a prob with them is the 4ws system. Known quite a few to play up / brake.

theyre very awful cars to drive, and if you ever plan on taking more than 2 people somewhere, best make sure the ones going in the back are skinny as feck. theyre well equipped, but a real heavy old barge, and sadly yes they grip well, but this is due to weight, they dont corner well at all

as a run around, you get a lot for your cash

drivin one and worked on numerous.

the 2.2 is ok. Nothing to right home about. But as said they are the worst car to be in the back of. Pretty much the same amount of room or less as u get in a mini.

Never seen any majour faults with them. If buying make sure the vtec works and thr droplinks arent fecked as ive seen a few burst droplinks on them.

The 2.2 vtec 210 hp are great! With some minor modifiactions you can expect good power.
Great design and building, excelent for two persons...only the back seat is very very small. The instrument panel are nice too.

i wouldnt buy one, no honda bashing, just there are better hondas as a run around than a prelude. theyre not a sports car, not really anything. can pick up a rover 45 shaped vti civic for reasonable price, theyre a bit more fun and have space like a rover obviously

saloons are 170bhp, but quite tall gear ratios compared to the hatch so abit of pratice needed to keep it in vtec in every gear.

though they are 1.8 and more importantly same engine as the dc2 itr just in vti form so if you can source some dc2 type r cams, manifold and gearbox you will have a wolf in sheeps clothing, and there not exactly slow in standard form
