Now it seems, and i know im not alone on this, that more and more shows that used to be good, now seem to be a bit of a shambles.
Iv noticed it the most looking at pics of shows on here which led me to make the post. My opinion is that every show is turning into a max power type affair, and generally attracting the wrong people.
is there no better specialist vauxhall related shows throughout the year? apart from pvs which seems to be going down a similar route, but not quite as bad, yet.
maybe ian and cs should be focussing on more specialist shows, or ones with genuine enthusiasts, instead of trying to attend everything going regardless.
its not just vauxhall thats affected. i for one was going to arrange something for vagweb at trax but never did, now im glad i didnt!
anyway these are just some thoughts tell me to stfu if you like.

I agree with some of that steve
There are a lot of "rude boys" etc going to shows trying to look hard and perving over the max power girls (which tbh is what they're for )
But there are very much different styles of cars on offer now and theres never just one scene: Euro, subtle, track, ICE'd, custom.
But I enjoyed both PVS and Trax this year and CS along with most of the club stands always seem to provide a variety of cars

From reading some of the antics at edition38 from 'undesirables' I'd be inclined to agree.
Doing this to someone's car is unacceptable.

As is fighting for no reason, just because you're drunk, bouncing your car off the rev limiter at 4am, or nicking someone's centre caps.
Looking at the Trax pictures, it seems to have got worse every year too, same with PVS, it was good in 2004, then got worse every year since IMO.

That is just disrespectful there!
Agreed fighting at shows like this is unacceptable, it's a day to look and druel over cars and sometimes girls

This is what I enjoy about shows such as Goodwood, and race events in particular, Le Mans especially. Where the emphasism is purely car or motorsport based. I think the range of attendees is based around the advertising for the event which plays the main role in attracting chaving types to shows such as trax. I dont think they do but a PPC event or track and race car show would go down greatly. Im looking forward to the Autosport show next year Im not sure such shows would suffice to what you would ideally like to attend though Steve.

go to the shows in Europe completely different atmosphere, and the cars are a hell of lot more interesting to look at.
All shows in the UK will go down hill until the separate the scene in the UK, at the moment we have two scenes:
Cruise
and
Enthusiasts
Until the mags make a conscious effort to separate them the shows will not do the same. For example Trax was a mix of both and then the ego modders as well - mix them all up and you get bad atmosphere and cars damaged.
3 cars were Keyed in the trade area at Trax on Sunday.....I wouldn't want my car in with that lot.
It also doesn't help that the trade areas are usually very very tightly packed in, it would be better if the traders could actually have a decent area to display the cars and product.

PMSL ... from walking round Trax i have to say there was only a handfull of chavvy cars .. at the end of the day just because a group of cars are not to YOUR taste doesnt make it a bad show? i personally dont think so because i enjoyed Trax and PVS quite alot.
The show cars in the trade area do a job, which is mainly to show what companies can do and he actual quality of the work they produce. car shows are there at the end of the day to make money .. end of story. so they have to make sure there is something for everyone so that the show caters for everyones taste (bigger bascket catches more money)
granted the vandalism is unfortunate but its no different to that of parking your car on the street and someone walking down the side with a key ... its the risk you take for having a modded car (not exactly ideal but its reality)

I dont think its an acceptable risk at all to have your car vandalised at this sort of event it does show the nature of the following attracted I agree with whats been said before about there being different 'genres' if you like of modifying. I know id be quite happy to stay away from the cruise sceene completely and if that means avoiding certain shows then that is what ill have to do.

of course its not acceptable, i didnt mean that at all. its just reality in this dayand age. people shouldn;t be so suprised when it does happen
its mainly due to jelousy IMO. but why someone would be jelous of a gay bodykit and paint job is beyond me lol

if you dont want a chavy show go to bugjam or somthing similar .. i really enjoyed trax but i thought pvs was shyt this year tbh .. also i think the more shows you go to the less you like them .. my fav shows i went to this year was bugjam and trax tho ... bugjam because nobady gave a fvck about the weather ! and every1 was nice to you .. not 1 chav!
trax this year seemed alot less chaved out than it has been imo and as said its only a small amount of people/ crap cars .. you will get them anywhere tho

That takes the piss.
People bring their cars to shows, to support their car club or go for a nice day out... and things like that happen, its just unacceptable

Yeah, there was a fair few chavs at trax, as you'll get at most shows, fair play there was a lot of "Heavily modifed cars" there too, but you've got to apprieciate the work that goes into some of the cars, it really is outstanding, even if it isnt to the publics liking, its the owners car, and if the owner likes it then fair enough
Join a corsa car club, and you're to expect shavs, its a cheap car, cheap to insure for the lower engines, and loads of kits etc available.
Join a ford cosworth club, and i doubt there will be a chav in site, unless its jr dribbling.

Mine at Fast & Mod was being used as an arm rest, people leaning against it with studded jeans on.
I went balistic, too many chavs attending shows these days and people that don't appreicate the time and money people spend on cars.
