a big loss in bhp and torque
did a before and after test on the dyno, sounded better but gave big losses (10-15 bhp and up to 18 ft/lb torque) right accross the rev range.
Goes to show that some engines shouldnt be messed with. BMW airbox system is the best ever made on a production car that I have seen.
(P.s I didnt supply the filter, just fitted it and tested it)

Thats a huge decrease,
Goes to show all them millions of pounds/euros (whatever) they spend on research actually works.
Name and shame the make of the air filter?

So if i fit a standard BMW m3 evo air filter to my corsa GSi i could get an increase of 10-15 bhp and up to 18 ft/lb torque right accross the rev range??
haha
Good to know though, BMW must try and get the best from thier engineering.

Have to agree on this, tried a proper bmc enclosed filter and my 525 felt slower and had a flat spot where it normal is just starting to pick up.

The Gruppe M stuff for the Beemers is awesome!!! Think an induction kit was about £1250 when I priced one for my M3 Evo tho!

What make of induction kit?
The Gruppe M stuff and their replicas work very very well as do the Dave.F kits
The K&N Crap dosnt work well as it has no proper heat sheilding!

Yeah I am yet to see one that has actually produced 321bhp in standard form.
They are all around the 300/310 mark.
Still fast though!
