anyone have any idea on the costs of bring a vehicle over from the states or more specifically Houston, Texas to England.

most importantly i guess would be taxes and what would need to be done to get a log book, im under the assumption that as soon as it enters the country it would need an MOT and possibly tax?

off the top of my head you pay 10% tax on the cost of buying the car and shipping fees then 17.5% VAT on top of that. You then have to pay for an SVA, pay for the registration MOT and tax.

Although if its a pick up truck rather than a car you pay 22% tax on the buying cost and shipping fee's, although the VAT is reclaimable.

Something like that anyway, depending on what your after its sometime most cost effective to buy something over here that has already been done.

Have a look at www.newport-imports.com for idea's.
