I've got a 52 plate 1.7 DTi SXI that will turn over forever but refuses to catch, or will catch and run normally for about 5 seconds and then suddenly die.
I notice that when I turn my key to 2 clicks, none of the gauges or displays on the dash power up. Usually your temp, fuel etc would start to move and it'd go through the inspection process, before showing current mileage. Now all that happens is the seatbelt warning light and engine warning light flash up brielfy, then go out as normal.
Can anybody help? I live out in the sticks and am screwed without my car. I should have joined the AA!

If the petrol needle doesnt move... is there petrol in the car? Silly question I know, but...

It's a Diesiel so there won't be any petrol
