Why do people who know nothing about cars assume convertibles are sports cars?

like my mother, who goes on about how her friend owns a sportscar, its a 206cc ffs, does she not realise my old 106gti was more sporty lol.

haha my nan is the same.. she calls 206gti's "rich mans cars" my cousin had bought one and me and my other cousin couldnt stop laughing!
