Bought a football shirt on eBay and after it didn't turn up I checked and the user was no longer registered so I filed a case with Paypal. They e mailed me last night saying the case has gone in my favour and credited my account

paypal never refunded my money and gave the crook who didn't send me my items the money back + chargd me for other crap that was nothing to do with me.
their customer service is appauling

ebay and paypal are the same company, just goes the show how the system is strongly in the buyers favour, luckily this time your request was genuine, however usually badgers order stuff you send it then they claim they never received it.
paypal are not good if your a seller

I got a letter from paypal saying I owed them 780 us dollars.
I thought it was a scam, from someone pretending to be paypal but it was actually the real Paypal sending the letters.
I spent 3 months getting them off my case and in the end I won. Its the worst banking organisation in the world. they have more outstanding claims cases in the uk with the finance ombudsman that any other bank ever has and I would never trust them.
Infact they still send me emails to tell me I have £15.99 in my account and I should log in. however this account no longer exists and I have filed a claim with the finance ombudsman for my £15.99 they owe me + interest at the rate that my business savings account gives me. I send paypal 3 letters a month (to which they have never replied) for which I charge £18 and so far they owe me over 13 months charges for letters. Shortly I will be taking them to the small claims court for a sum totalling over £800.
shockingly, I can legally do the above and claim VAT on top of my charges. If it goes to court (which I hope) then Paypal will not have a hope of disputing my right to the charges as that is what they themself charge for sending debt letters.

I sold a chair for £2350. The guy paid through paypal so they charged me £80+! I delivered the chair a couple of months later as it was being restored, upon taking it to Chester the guy decides he doesn't want it and wants a refund. However, Paypal only do a 'free' refund within 60 days, so they make the charges AGAIN even though the transaction hasn't gone through. Fucking piss take, they never answer emails, you can't speak to anyone on the phone. As said above, they only give a toss about the buyer. Oh and then there's chargbacks...

I sold someone an Ipod for £110, sent the guy the Ipod then I got an email from Payapl saying the guy used a fraudulent card so as part of their Protection Programme they took the money from my account and gave the credit card company the money....
I emailed them and they said in the terms and conditions of signing up to Paypal I agreed that apparently, so I had no Ipod and no money.....set of bastards just like ebay

As steve said paypal are hugely in favor of the buyer. All they have to do is claim they did'nt recieve the item. If you have a tracking no this is easily resolved and the seller should win.
Problem is after they loose the item not recieved dispute, they can say oh it has turned up now and file another dispute claiming the item is not as described. Then the buyers is almost certain to get their refund and your left out of pocket. I had this from an italian buyer over a phone. I won both disputes (amazingly!) but i do believe the only reason i won the 2nd was because neither me or the paypal investigator who was reading both our stories couldnt make head or tail of WTF he was saying the problem was so i phoned paypal and the investigator said, oh i just ended the case in your favour
