At the garage that dropped the engine in for me, I spotted this picture up on the wall. Apparently the two cars belong to his sons who built and race them. Running about 220bhp from 2 litre ford engines, rwd and generally a bit mental! Looks like fun

are there any advantages to using ford 2.0's over vauxhall 2.0 XE's?

was going to say they dont break and fart out oil like valvers but so do ford engines

He said cos it was RWD all the mounts had to be made specially anyway, and they had a couple of ford engines spare so decided to put them in there instead of sticking with vauxhall.

Cost, and you have to use a Pinto in that formula.
